An Alabama native, Stephanie Mallory spent her childhood roaming Alabama’s Bankhead Forest with her father who instilled in her a passion for the outdoors. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in corporate journalism, Mallory decided to combine her education and passion into a career focused on the outdoors. She created Mallory Communications, which provides media relations services and website content for outdoor-related companies. She co-authored the book “Basic Essentials of Archery” and has written thousands of pieces for regional and national print and online publications. When not working, Mallory enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Brett, and four children Ethan, Ransom, Scarlet and Fiona.

Mathew “Mat” Brost is an experienced hunter, rifleman, fisherman, outdoor writer, marketer, and outdoor product tester specializing in hunting, shooting sports, and outdoor gear. Mat has authored numerous hunting, shooting, and gear-guide articles and produced outdoor content featured across the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s digital network. His published work on Bass Pro spans a broad range of outdoor pursuits, including whitetail rifle hunting, archery, firearms and reloading, ice fishing, field-dressing, GPS equipment, base-layer systems, and outdoor cooking.
As an experienced hunter and product tester, Mat understands what outdoor equipment needs to deliver when it leaves the showroom and enters the field. He evaluates gear from the perspective of someone who actually depends on it—considering durability, functionality, reliability, and real-world performance.
